1. Naby Keita

- Born: 10 Feb 1995 (age 22)
- Nationality: Guinea
- Height: 5ft 8
- Position: Centre Midfield
- Team: RB Leipzig
A player making great strives in the German Bundesliga and enjoying his first season in one of the major European leagues and what an impressive, assured debut season it has been for the Guinean. The dynamic, box to box midfielder likened to Ngolo Kante started with humble beginnings in his homeland and moved to France in 2012, not making his professional debut for Istres in Ligue 2 until the following season.
Impressive performances scoring 11 in 24 games from midfield led to a move to Austria to play RB Salzburg. A place where Naby would win the Austrian Bundesliga Player of the year and earn a move to their ‘Sister’ club RB Leipzig in Germany where he scored on his debut against Borussia Dortmund and has been a major part of their success this season. His energy and ball distribution is a strong factor of his game and with a lack of strength in depth in the middle of the park at Spurs he would be a great addition. However at just 22, and with interest of lots of other clubs, he would not come cheap!

2. Cedric Bakambu

- Born: 11 April 1991
- Nationality: Congo
- Height: 6ft
- Position: Striker
- Team: Villarreal
After a stunning debut season in Spain for the Congolese Striker, the goals seemed to have dried up so far this season. An impressive haul of 22 goals last season including 9 in the Europa League and goals against Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen and Sevilla that fired his club Villarreal to the Europa League semi finals and helped secure 4th in La Liga.
However, Bakambu seems to have fallen down the pecking order with Nicola Sansone and previously Alexandre Pato being preferred for the striking role. A possible cut-price transfer fee for Spurs would be a great deal, considering the heavy reliance on Harry Kane and Janssen’s failure to deliver from open play. He is certainly a striker who provides pace and can stretch a back four but is also at a good age for development. I believe this would be a good option for us.
3. Ryan Sessegnon

- Born:18 May 2000 (age 16)
- Nationality: English
- Height: 5ft 10
- Position: Left Back
- Team: Fulham
A dynamic left back who has burst upon the scene this season, sending scouts flocking to Craven Cottage to take a look at this wonder-kid, whom his teammates have dubbed as the next Gareth Bale. He is the youngest ever Championship goal scorer and has gone on to score a further 3 more goals this season.
With scrutiny over Ben Davies capability to deputise for Danny Rose especially after some recent poor performances, this boy could be the answer… and again… he’s just 16! A young, athletic full back with bags of energy, who can bomb forward. He could be exactly what we need, considering our reliance on full backs to provide width for the team. Though he is still so young especially when you think Danny Rose’s professional debut came in the Championship on loan at Watford when he was 19!

4. Harry Maguire

- Born: 05 Mar 1993 (age 23)
- Nationality: English
- Height: 6ft 2
- Position: Centre Back
- Team: Hull City
Some may question this inclusion on the list. This tough tackling, strong centre back has impressed me a lot this season whilst playing on a struggling team. However, it’s not just defensively he has impressed me but also his ability on the ball is fantastic and the way he breaks into midfield and starts attacks is brilliant. Just check-out his slaloming run against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the video below.
Harry is young, English and commands his defence well. He is at the right age for development, which Pochettino works magic at. Our formation change seemed to work well, when it changed to 3-5-2 and more centre backs are needed to facilitate it. I don’t think Wimmer is trusted and Carter-Vickers needs to be bedded in slowly or loaned out and Maguire under the right tutorage I believe he could become a first choice England centre back.

5. Thomas Lemar

- Born: 12 November 1995 (age 21)
- Nationality: French
- Height: 5ft 7
- Position: Left/centre midfield
- Team: AS Monaco
The French international midfielder has been a revelation this season in a rejuvenated Monaco team that beat us twice in our Champions League group. He has scored 10 times from midfield this season, including a goal in each game against us!
Starting his career at Caen, he moved to Monaco in 2015 and has impressed ever since, attracting many admiring glances from around Europe due to his ability, age and potential. He is versatile and can play attacking midfield, centre midfield or out on the left with continued effectiveness. He has pace, an eye for goal and a creative spark. Creativity is something I believe we need more of, if we are going to win the league title and perform on all fronts he is the kind of player that can add a lot to the team. However it is likely he will cost too much for our budget with rumours linking him to a £50million to Manchester City previously.
